The Red Wolves (5-3, 3-1 Sun Belt Conference) upset UL-Lafayette on Tuesday. Arkansas State is also in the running for the conference crown once again under their new head coach Gus Malzahn.
It was Brian Davis who kicked five field goals and Arkansas State rolled up 526 yards of offense in a 50-27 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette on Tuesday night.
Arkansas State QB Ryan Aplin completed 21 of 31 passes for 269 yards and one touchdown. Rocky Hayes led the Red Wolves in rushing, gaining 86 yards on three carries with one touchdown.
UL-Lafayette still have a chance to come back and get back in this game to become post season eligible and contend for the conference championship.
