Western Kentucky pull away with another win and made their
chances a bit better for the Sun Belt Conference champions. With a win over
Florida International, FIU has no chance of picking up a conference crown
before they depart for C-USA.
Antonio Andrews rushed
for a 3-yard score with 2:24 remaining, and the Western Kentucky defense forced
its fourth turnover of the contest on the final play in a 14-6 win over FIU
Saturday night.
After the Hilltoppers (6-2, 3-1 Sun Belt
Conference) improved their season record and now they are officially bowl
eligible with six wins under their belts, the Golden Panthers (1-8, 0-5) have no chance of entering post season play or
picking up a Sun Belt crown as pre-season polls had favor the departing team.
