FAU beats Wagner 7-3 in a low scoring game

Florida Atlantic win season opener.

FAU quarterback Graham Wilbert rallied late to beat Wagner in their season opener. This low scoring game was a plus for the Owls.

Graham Wilbert threw a 39-yard pass to Byron Hankerson early in the fourth quarter to beat Wagner 7-3 on Friday night.

Pelini, the former Nebraska defensive coordinator is the new head coach at FAU, the team gave him his first win with the program.

Wilbert took over for starter Stephen Curtis at the start of the second half, and finished 10 of 13 for 126 yards, and had six carries for 23 yards.

The Owls' offense finished with 327 yards after managing 86 in the first half of the game.
