Well
week 1 is behind us and we now know some basics of where our teams are now
somewhat against non-conference foes. We had a couple of un-expected losses in week
1, these losses could have been avoided.

UL-Monroe did not play in week 1, this was their bye week and only bye week.
Middle
Tennessee and South Alabama gave us un-expected losses to begin this 2012
season. Do I count it over for the two programs, not so fast. Middle Tennessee
played a good game but gave up some plays to win their game; I look for Defense
Coordinator Nix to work hard this week on improvements on the defense for the
Blue Raiders. Head Coach Rick Stockstill wasn’t please with the outcome himself;
he will give new orders this week to help improve his team going into the next
game.
For
South Alabama, that was a letdown. I don’t think C.J. Bennett the starting
quarterback played his best, and the defense that I been bragging about gave up
a lot of plays on yesterday to allow South Alabama to lose by only two points to
a team they beat in double overtime last year.
South
Alabama is now into Division 1 play and they is going to have to step up the
game in order to be successful, they must leave fear at home and bring
dominating power to the field. I believe they took UTSA likely on yesterday,
and now they are regretting it.
We
will see what Joey Jones work to improve this week as they prepare for Nicholas
State that should be a win for South Alabama again. This time around a improved
game allowing no points.
