Daleville High Safety Buchanan and Spain Park DL commits to South Alabama

Jacob Chaffin a defensive lineman from Spain Park High was the seventh commitment for South Alabama when he verbally committed on Monday. The 6’3, 275 lb said he intends to sign with the Jaguars on national signing day in February as well.

Chaffin has recieved scholarship offers from several other schools, including Southern Miss, Troy, Middle Tennessee, Arkansas State, Western Kentucky, Tulane, Samford, Georgia State and Jacksonville State, Chaffin cast his lot with South Alabama. And was also being heavily recruited by Mississippi State.

Safety Roman Buchana 

Daleville High safety Roman Buchanan became the eighth player to verbally commit to South Alabama's football program on Tuesday. Buchanan a 6’2, 198lb senior-will inform the Jaguars' coaching staff that he intends to sign with the school on national signing day in February.

Buchanan participated in several camps in recent seasons.-He had two interceptions, more than 80 tackles, four pass deflections, a blocked field goal, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries last season at Daleville.

Buchanan, was also being recruited by UAB and Georgia Tech, said he likes his chances of making an immediate impact with the Jags of South Alabama once he arrives.

Both players are from Alabama and all verbal commitments are non-binding.
