Hoover
safety Devon Earl has verbally committed to become a member of the South Alabama
football program. The 5’11, 195lb senior becomes the ninth Jaguar commitment for
the 2013 signing class.
Devon
Earl was selected as the 2012 Birmingham News Hoover Area Athlete of the Year.
Earl
said he looks forward to having the opportunity to compete for playing time.
Earl
had scholarship offers from Troy, UAB and Southern Miss and was also recruited
by Middle Tennessee, Louisiana-Lafayette and Georgia State.
"I
just felt like South would be a better place for me," Earl said. "I
just really liked the Mobile area. Going down there, the water being there, you
just can't not go there."
