Former Virginia QB Ross Metheny now at South Alabama

Ross Metheny has graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in sociology. Today, he's at South Alabama where he is entering the school's Masters program and looking for playing time at quarterback. The 6’3, 205lb Metheny played two seasons at Virginia and will now finish his career at South Alabama.

Metheny a left-hander played in a pro-style offense at Virginia where he was 15-of-19 passing for 207 yards and three touchdowns. His best performance came against Florida State as a redshirt freshman in 2010, connecting on 7-of-9 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown. At Sherando High in Stephens City, Va., Metheny was a first-team all-region and all-district selection and second-team all-state pick his senior year.

Ross Metheny has two years of eligibility remaining and is eligible to play this season. He joins a position that has sophomore C.J. Bennett as the returning starter and redshirt freshman Trey Fetner listed as No. 2 on the depth chart.
