Troy
Trojans continue to work in preseason camp as they prepare to hit the field
this fall to show that they are the all time Sun Belt Champs.
The
Troy University football worked out for over three hours Wednesday morning in
Veterans Memorial Stadium as the Trojans continue working towards their first
scrimmage of the fall on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The
Trojans will go through a pair of practices on Thursday at 8:15 a.m. and 3:15
p.m. and one Friday morning before Saturday’s first scrimmage of fall camp.
Troy
will hold its annual Fan Day on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. on the west
concourse of Veterans Memorial Stadium. The Trojan Warriors Club will be
providing free food and drinks to all those in attendance.
“We’re
dragging a little. It’s about that time where their mind is tired, their body
is tired and they won’t push their way through things. You get bad habits when
you get like that. We are trying to encourage them to get back where we’ve had
it the whole time. We’ll try and see what happens tomorrow morning, we’ll
probably lighten it up a little bit, and try to get ready to feel like scrimmaging
Saturday morning at 11, said coach Larry Blakeney.
Troy
has won a share of five of the past six Sun Belt Conference titles and is the
only school to represent the league in five bowl games. Troy has 11 more Sun
Belt victories than any other school in the league since the Trojans joined the
Sun Belt in 2004. The Trojans also have a Sun Belt leading 84 all-conference
selections and 38 first team all-conference selections over that same time
period.
